The Gazoodles Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists children in need, fosters opportunity within the community for parents and children to participate in family activities, and supports various charities. A percentage of all profits are contributed to the foundation in addition to any donations. The administrator for the foundation is the Winston-Salem Foundation, Inc. The Winston-Salem Foundation was founded by Colonel Francis H. Fries, president of Wachovia Bank, on October 14, 1919 with a gift of $1000.00. Since its founding, the Foundation has grown to custodial assets in excess of $210 million. These assets are housed in 800 funds, each with an individual charitable purpose, that the Foundation administers. The Winston-Salem Foundation is the 17th oldest and 39th largest community foundation in the United Sates and the oldest foundation of any type in North Carolina. The Gazoodles Foundation will also be coordinating efforts with Brenner Children's Hospital.
